Ken Burns Dust Bowl

PBS will air Ken Burns’ latest documentary The Dust Bowl on November 18 (part one) and November 19 (part two). I have seen it and highly recommend it. This is a story of people who endured incredible hardships and yet maintained a grim determination to survive – and they did! Dayton Duncan wrote the screenplay and the producer allowed survivors to tell of their experiences – their stories are compelling and the photos and old film clips are chilling! For over twenty years I’ve had the privilege of providing music for Ken’s films and The Dust Bowl is one of the most rewarding experiences I have had to date. I recorded from February of 2010 through the Spring of 2011 and enjoyed every minute of it. Dayton’s musical instincts are impressive and he is a joy to work with. I hope you will make time to see this amazing film. Ken, Dayton, and all the wonderful, talented people at Florentine Films are the best in the business and The Dust Bowl is further proof.
